Extraordinary landscapes, multiple possibilities of activities to do alone or in groups, natural sites and historical heritage, Brittany is one of the best tourist places in France. With its surprising geographical destinations, this region provokes wonder and a change of scenery in its visitors. Its 4 departments are all as rich and diverse as each other. The Côtes-d’Armor, Morbihan, Finistère and Ille et Vilaine each have their own unique charm and unmissable landscapes. So there’s a lot to discover in the area. So, which place to visit in Brittany? Here are the top 3 must-see places.

Taste the oysters of Arzon

Located in the Gulf of Morbihan, not far from Vannes, Arzon is an emblematic town of the Breton region renowned for its oysters with an exceptional iodine taste. It has the second strongest current in Europe. In addition to exhibiting the beauty of nature, including the spectacle of the tides, the many and diverse sites to visit promote multiple activities. As a couple, with family or friends, you can go for bike rides, walks, water sports, sailing and tennis. Not to mention a visit to an oyster farm and the tasting of exceptional oysters. For those looking for thrills, e-surfing, electrically powered paddle boarding and kayaking are also available. There are even activities to do especially with the little ones: mini-golf, or between adults: thalassotherapy.

The town of Arzon, in the Gulf of Morbihan, is also known for being a dynamic city with its many events and festivals. There are events specific to the region such as the Arzonnaises festival, the room for kids festival or the Gulf Week. And more common celebrations such as the fireworks on July 14th. Its many weekly and seasonal markets are also renowned, especially thanks to the excellent quality oysters that are sold there. Don’t miss out on trying it during your visit. Not far from Arzon is the town of Vannes, a town in Morbihan that you absolutely must visit during your stay in Brittany.

To take advantage of all the assets of the city of Arzon in the Gulf of Morbihan, Charme Bretagne offers you accommodation nearby. Guests can enjoy a pleasant stay in the comfort of the B&B Ar Couette.

Belle-Île-en-Mer, a little piece of paradise

Still called Belle-Île, Belle-Île-en-Mer has many gems that make it a little corner of paradise in Morbihan. Many artists, academics and politicians have come here to contemplate the profound beauty of the landscapes. Between historical sites such as the palace and inspiring places such as the Pointe des Poulains, Belle-Île-en-Mer is an exceptional place. The island is constantly served by boat, which makes it easy to cross. The different departure points are the ports of Vannes, Quiberon, Le Croisic, Port Navalo, Locmariacquer and La Turballe. It is therefore possible to visit the island throughout the year, without having to wait for a particular season. In fact, the climate is always mild, which is ideal for outdoor or seaside adventures. Belle-Île is a concentrate of the qualities of Brittany that you can discover or rediscover by staying at the  Manoir de l’Isle.

In addition, with its 85 km of marked trails along the GR34 Atlantic coast, Belle-Île-en-Mer has terrain suitable for walks and hikes. You will discover the wild nature or an ocean panorama as far as the eye can see. It is even possible to go around Brittany along the coast from the Palace to Locmaria via Port-Coton.

The Monts d’Arrée: on Breton peaks

The Monts d’Arrée are located in the heart of Brittany in the Finistère department and are one of the must-sees in Finistère. They offer impressive views of the entire Breton region and the Finistère department. The wild landscapes of this region bear witness to the purity of the Monts d’Arrée, which are the last place in Brittany untouched by any human transformation. The atmosphere is characterized by calm, mystery, freedom and fulfillment. The Monts d’Arrée are also magnificent circuits that allow you to explore the heart of Brittany. Hikes are therefore possible in many places. The best spots to stop, picnic or take the most beautiful photos are Lake Guerlédan, or the GR de Pays des Monts d’Arrée which is located in the heart of the Armorican Massif. With a low altitude, the Armorique Regional Natural Park and the parish enclosures of Saint-Thégonnec are at the end of the ascent. For lovers of maritime landscapes, the tour of Brière is possible in the heart of the Brière Regional Natural Park. It’s the perfect opportunity to take pictures of otters, wading birds or cows roaming freely. Finally, La Brocéliande will immerse you in a world of history and legends. The castles, valleys and landscapes present are full of tales.
