Immerse yourself in medieval scenery in the Vallée de la Rance
When visiting the Côtes d’Armor, be sure to spend some time in Picturesque Dinan ! In easy reach of Mont-Saint-Michel and Saint-Malo, this medieval town encircled by ramparts that are well-preserved, overlooks the Rance Valley.
Boasting a 14th century château, 2 600 metres of remparts, winding streets and little town squares, Dinan is undeniably medieval in charm. In the timbered houses that line its cobbled streets, you’ll find craft boutiques and workshops. One of these streets, the famous rue du Jerzual, leads you to the marina, just 75 metres below the town itself. This is ideal spot for setting off for boat trips along the Rance or towards Saint-Malo, or to set off on foot up to the ‘little town of character’, Léhon. Every other year at the end of July, Dinan celebrates its illustrious history by hosting the Fête des Remparts, at which point everybody brings the Middle Ages back to life with tournaments, taverns, and period costumes for knights and peasants alike.
