The spirit of the place

Just northwest of the historic city of Vannes, in easy reach of the beautiful Morbihan Gulf, sits Le Clos du Gusquel, a relaxing retreat where you can leave everyday worries far behind you.

Nestling among the greenery, this former farmhouse has kept its character but has a luxurious feel thanks to high-quality furnishings and fittings: everything you need so you can escape to the country, and enjoy a rural setting with all the modern comforts. All around you’ll see ancient oak trees, a horse, sheep, goats, chickens and the meadow. On the site, there’s a gîte that sleeps up to 6 people and 3 spacious, airy guest rooms full of rural refinement, as well as a large, heated pool (from June to September) and even a sauna.

If you’re a fan of the sea, you can explore the nearby islands of Hoedic, Houat, Belle-Ile, or head off on a guided tour of the Morbihan Gulf. Inland, cycle through one of the most beautiful bays in the world or visit the natural reserve of Les Marais de Séné. And finally, to delight the tastebuds, the famous biscuit-makers ‘La Trinitaine’ are just up the road!

A fabulous stay in the countryside We had a wonderful 4 night stay at Le Clos du Gusquel. We loved the quiet location in the countryside close to Vannes and Auray. Christelle was a fabulous host giving us suggestions on restaurants nearby and places to visit in the district. The breakfast was abundant with homemade fruit, cereal and baked items. We highly recommend Le Clos du Gusquel and would have no hesitation in staying here again.
